poorme,
of course when the stock goes down and at the same time the new CEO's salary is published this does not look good.

My opinion is that he definitely has now a salary which is very significant to this little company. No doubt. However when you consider that he has long year experience as a leader and a successful international career we can not have him for free.

He had his price but he also moved from London to Portland with his wife and he also took the risk of losing this position in short term again considering this is a high risk company and penny stock. If the company failed that would be really bad for his future career.

We can have a cheaper CEO but this one would be a rookie. I think this wouldn't help. It is a complex task. This is also about being realistic. There is also a market for lead management which dictates salaries.

Roger's advantage is that he obviously knows Marr and is important to keep a good relation with Marr. Imagine a new CEO entering the scene with the idea: "Marr is only one partner amongst others and I have a different understanding about how we must advance in the future. I like this company to be more independent, I make it my company now (would be the typical tough manager)".

So one important task of the CEO is to keep Calypte and Marr on the same page. This is not about enforcing plans and decisions against Marr but finding compromises both sides can live with. Now there are some clowns who named him Marr's puppy, but I believe these people have no idea what cooperation in joint ventures and with investors is all about.

I personally believe that Roger Gale is the kind of leader who makes his employees a lot better. He is not the "I did it all"-guy.

My quick thoughts

Cal
