House money? I have never interpreted any amount of my money as "house money".
That's actually why I asked you about the 200 premium to demand your attention and what percent it was of your portfolio / assets?

if I make 400% and sell 3/4 of a position; I don't consider that house money; it is my money for the taking of losses or gains...

Saving a business card in a roledex from somebody I had a random conversation might be the equivalent of your $200.

I'm just trying to tap some experience / insight from another point of view.....I'm certain some of my views will adapt with my progress in life.

I am in full agreement of the driver seat. And I take full responsibility for my "all in" play. I was trying to show how when I was certain I had a very good understanding of share structure, especially with said company; then all $hit hit fan and another lesson was learned the hard way. I sure as hell know how I'll play the next time something like that crosses my research.
All in all it was pathetic on my part; the 18 month result, and more importantly the fact it was completely and obviously in the cards to recap the company prior to buyout via preferred units. The pathetic comes from the fact I did not even hypothesize a recap via preferred....I'm not sure how i could have known this avenue, but I am certain I should have.
