Thats pretty obviously insider info being leaked to a few.
Even backed by third party verifiable dates.
But a prior insider putting out info not publically known is not illegal. It must be material. Which means it would change the average shareholders trading patterns.
Something like leaking the spin out could get someone in trouble (and might) but telling about a deal from years ago that never came to pass is not illegally leaking insider info.
Unless you think knowing that Dan didnt take a deal years ago would change someones trading.
I cant see that though.
