I think your ability to connect-the-dots in this situation is askew.

This isn't a pump-and-dump by the "market machine". The company and the analysts forecasted significant revenue growth for the 2nd half of 2016. They did it at a time (May) when the stock price was below $5. The information has changed and the stock price (always volatile) is adjusting accordingly.
