It looks like the Cuba embargo is being lifted. Cuba is a pretty good example of a country that did not go the Monsanto route (yet) because they could not afford that route and US companies could not sell there.

It will be interesting to see if Cuba opens up their country to the chemical fertilizer companies or try to continue its sustainable agriculture traditionis.
