That taste is the Terpenes from the Nanotech Infusion process... I have had a couple dialogues with them regarding the new shatter product and I have an XL pack of it myself that I just received. The crumble also has a significant terpene profile as well and has a similar taste, but the shatter has even more terpenes than the crumble.

Terpenes do not always have the best taste but man, they can really heighten your experience and the overall effect of CBD within the body.
