I take the last sentence to provide clarity.

"Our goal is to produce a better product than our competition at a lower cost point. We believe we are on a direct path to achieving this goal."

I think what Sri was saying is they haven't exceeded their competitions performance, but they sent samples in the past two weeks which may have.
