chipguy, if Intel did not plan to deliver more than 10% of Opteron unit volume and target only 4P market, maybe didn't get its priorities right in the first place?

Intel manager: we need a fast Itanium chip to ship 10,000 units of its top speed grade per year.

Intel engineer: why don't we stick 6 Mb of cache there?
