That one year in income(2013) had 38 billion for Fannie and 23 billion for Freddie not counting the dta's. So the dta's were not their "sole" source of income! Find me two other companies that were even close in 2011, 2012,2013 ! Combined net income to payback the draw was over 190 billion! Dta's only account for 87 billion of that.
Also remember that the gse's pay income tax after 2013, before they give all of their net worth to the Treasury. Holy Double taxation!
