That fake website story today says it all-

I for one find it odd that someone(or group) would take it that far to try and scare shareholders into selling. The ramnifications of doing something like that fake news post about rufus getting arrested are HUGE! i don't think that would have been done if there was not a significant paycheck from someone for doing it-I can assure you it was not just done as a gag.
trouble is though it is very traceable-only the most comp. savvy could cover their tracks...obvoiusly the reward was worth the risk.
