TSMC seems to be bleeding more and more.



Yes, record revenue, record margins, won the entirety of the A10 contract, etc. Definitely signs of bleeding.

You do realize that Qualcomm is probably only using Samsung because Qualcomm wants into the Galaxy S/Note phones, right? wink


We don't know the actual characteristics and densities of TSMC 10nm vs Samsung 10nm vs Intel 10nm and it is still only announcements, but it seems very likely to me that Intel actually is loosing this race. That's kind of an inflection point, don't you guys think? No process lead for Intel anymore!



TSMC 10nm and Samsung 10nm are slightly denser than Intel 14nm, so the foundries do have a density lead if you compare shipping product to shipping product.

What we don't know though is how Intel's 14nm+ compares in terms of electrical performance relative to the foundry 10nm processes.
