Reread my post and ask yourself the following questions: was derek32smith serious, or just offering a wink wink glimpse of the next pitch from Sphere?

Is a Glassphone possible? No. Though it's an enticing idea and cool name, what would a Glassphone offer to the market and consumer? What could Sphere build what Blackberry could not? And they just exited the hardware business. Could Sphere's handful of developers do what Blackberry, with thousands of engineers and software developers, could not? Not a chance.

Could this team build a universal browser (by the way, what is that?) when Microsoft cannot? And what would it offer that Apple Safari and Google Chrome do not today? And how would Sphere monetize it when the competition is free?

Does he really think that this team of Kelly, Tassiopoulos, Bookman, Kurt K can beat Google, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, and Blackberry at their own game? Did they beat EMC, Dell, B+VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, NetApp, Hitachi and IBM at their game? Not even close!!!

But, hey, what do I know? Maybe this time they can pull it off. And after all, the price to play is only 50 cents. Can't get a coffee at Tims for that price.

"We are tired of development, now is the time to sell, sell, sell" - Sphere CEO Peter Tassiopoulos, Feb 2014
