Believe me as an owner of Dji drones (Inspire 1 and the Phantom 4) those features are great but if anyone thinks they will help you from crashing the drone people or mistaken. People don't crash drones typically going forward or going down its from cornering up around objects, out of line of site and it doesn't work as great as you would think. You still have to know what your doing for the most part. The hardest part for Karma is the brand recognition that DJI has. Their drones are great and everyone knows that at least the people that actually own them. They have there problems but they make great drones. From what I see it really depends on what you want in a drone when you compare the 2. If both drones apples to apples work great at what they do Mavic clearly wins in portability and features (speed, obstacle avoidance, and distance, follow me etc. Karma wins in the controller already having a screen believe me that's more important than you would think, price if you already have a GoPro Hero 4 and if you buy the complete package the Karma with the Hero 5 you get more stuff. The drone, the Hero 5, the hand held stabilizer, the backpack not to mention the entire ecosystem of GoPro attachments you may already have. It really comes down to who you are and what you want in a drone. If you just want a compact drone with a lot of features people will buy the Mavic. If you want an ecosystem and versatility outside the drone Karma is definitely the better choice. My opinion Karma is the better buy only because when I'm done with the drone I can take the camera off and do so much more. Plus I have an the Cadillac of drones in the Inspire 1. Hopes this helps future decision makers!!!
