Kuwait oil remediation.

If you don't already know...

I had previously done a little research and I though I would share a few things if you don't already know. Mr Davey previously said that MCW was working on a large oil remediation project in Kuwait. I searched and searched and I found a few things. The project that they are currently bidding on is one that is already in progress (this is an educated guess). At the end of the Gulf War when Saddam's forces were leaving Kuwait they destroyed many well heads and lit every thing on fire. This created MASSIVE oil lakes that are still there today. When Mr Davey stated that he was working with UNESCO, a part of the United Nations, the UN previously declared that Iraq pay restitutions for the damage done to Kuwait. It was in the ball park of 5 billion. This is the only oil remediation project I could find that the UN is funding. The remediation contract was granted to a company called AMEC. The technology used is pretty much the usual oil sands tech (washing the sand with hot water). I provided a link below which is a power point presentation about the "lessons learned" from this project. One thing I cant find is any current news about a re-bid for this project. Mr Davey previously stated to me that this project could be work 21 Billion USD. I am not fully sure about that number and it might be a little ambitious. Especially if it is fully funded by UNESCO. They have only awarded 5 billion. Nonetheless, this would be a great project to land and MCW's definitely stands out.
