"not a gun guy"
Have you ever experienced the terror of having another person, or gang of people, having the ability to control 100% "intent to cause you serious damaging physical harm" where you know that you have zero ability to defend yourself?
Knowing that you are 100% helpless, and they are 100% in control.
For me I came very close to being captured in Vietnam, and even-thought I had a "gun" for defense, I was stupidity alone separated from my unit searching for water to drink and wandered to far away and almost walked into a group of enemy soldiers I had no ability to escape, if noticed.
Its true, 99% of enemy contact in Vietnam resulted without any visual contact of them.
Extreme water deprivation results in extreme mental deprivation to reason sanity.
I once tried to drink water from a mud hole in the ground that contained a blacken corpse.
As soon as the water entered my mouth I felt a thick slime and spit it out, and was angry with myself that I was unable to swallow the water.
But alas some was absorbed, and that night, all at the same time, I pissed, pissed out of my ass hole, and pucked. Talk about that dare: At the same time, rub you head and wiggle you nose and repeat the alphabet, all at the same time.
Not saying carrying a gun is all good and positive without any risk, for without any need to use it the possibility for that gun to harm you or another exists.
