TEVA buying out IPCI rumor isn't without logical basis. TEVA developed their own abuse deterrence. IPCI would be a direct competitor if Rexista and further drugs are developed as best in class. On top of that the PODRAS delivery platform can hurt TEVA in the long run.

For TEVA to buyout IPCI is actually a smart move. First they would have acquired PODRAS technology and eliminated a competitor. On top of that, they have Rexista, Regabaton, and all the ANDAs as well as the rest of the pipeline. TEVA to offer a 12 dollar buyout and further contingent on reaching milestones isn't unlikely.

Odidi have said that he wouldn't sell for less than 12. Well, if the offer is good enough, it's a win win situation for both IPCI and TEVA.
