It was a flat plastic whistle if I remember correctly...not like a sport or coaches one. Heck as a kid you didn't get a pair of shoes ( or a cereal ) unless it came with some sort of prize. Funny thing also I remember is all the kids wore these heavy metal leg braces as soon as they were able to walk. What a scam .

But one thing is for certain....Whenever I ended up in the wrong neighborhood in the Bronx I can assure you the PF Flyers were much faster than my Buster Brown shoes ( with the dog inside ) LOL.
