Drilling around a piece of stuck pipe adds even more risks and uncertainties, and makes the odds against any success even higher and, thus, more remote.

I'm sorry this isn't going according to your pre-conceived notions of what "ought" to be happening, but this is all part of the high-risk casino called The Oil Patch.
