I think gold could react a little different if the fed raises rates. We might get a quick drop in gold as an initial reaction. I still think gold could get very attractive if the fed raises. I guess we find out if I am wrong or not but I think if rates go up this market falls hard. That IMO will be the tipping point that gets people flocking to safety.
