Come on. All of what you said here could easily be written and substantiated by wingnuts on both ends of the political spectrum. There's plenty of "evidence" to go around. Do you really think that people, in general, investigate various media sources, mainstream or otherwise, to evaluate and give shape to their open-minded political opinions?
People read and spew back whatever corroborates their already deeply rooted beliefs. And these days what they "read" is usually no more than a sound bite that some media chimp has deemed important. Or if folks are feeling deeply inquisitive, maybe they'll dig deep and read 1-2 paragraphs. Then it's on to the next 30 second clip....
