I can explain this. Most trades are broken up into small chunks by algorithmic order execution. If you want to dump 300,000 shares you don't just throw 300,000 on the ask and watch the bid fade.

Even humps with $5K in a IB account can use algos.

Usually only see blocks when it's institution to institution. Penny stocks on the verge of possible bankruptcy is usually baggy to baggy trading or larger holders unloading on retail. Often with the help of a puffball PR.
