It's now 2016 and the profits have come through and are now out in the open. From an accounting and common sense point of view, it's going to be much harder to completely wipe out common based on what we know today. I know less about what the "legal" system and their "logic" will come up with. The private sector also expects the rule of law to be followed and does not understand that their property can be taken from them for political reasons when investing in a "regulated entity". The Lambreth precedent is a disaster not just for Gse shareholders, but also for any shareholders of other banks and insurance companies and other regulated entities. Someday the "adults" in the room will figure it out.
