Re: Sassy - Rebate

I was shocked when I heard over the weekend that if you got some of the earned tax credits, like the education or child care credit, you would not receive a rebate.

I heard that he was increasing the Earned [sic] Income Tax Credit. Regardless, his campaign platform called for tax-cuts for those who pay federal income taxes, not give-aways to the good-for-nothings of society.

In the same report, I heard that this is not really a tax refund, but more of a tax credit - towards the 2002 taxes.

That is not true according to all of the sources I have seen.

"Q. How quickly will the tax cut provide rebates to taxpayers?
A. The Treasury Department will begin sending out refund checks of between $300 and $600 beginning July 20. "
