September. Children and adults of all ages are going back to school and so it is fitting then to open this WealthCampus message board. The tuition here is free but how high is the cost of trading in the stock market?
While the actual cost is hard to quantify, I have been doing this long enough to know that it is higher than most people think.. In most cases it is higher than most people are willing to pay. Trading is not a game that can be conquered or mastered in a few short months. It takes many months to years of relentless effort to obtain market proficiency.
Excellence seems to emerge only after one has learned and experienced every conceivable way to lose. The pains, agony, and scars of experienced traders run deep. If aspiring market mavens do not possess a great deal of fortitude, or if they lack resolve, are devoid of passion, and are unwilling to forsake all, they simply won't last.
Individuals who truly desire market success will have to pay with their blood, their money, and a very big part of their lives. The tuition is high.
But the ultimate reward that goes to those willing to pay the price is immeasurable.
So once again, welcome and I look forward to seeing you on campus. Here we can share stories, insights, charts of stocks using technical analysis, market psychology, risk management, and portfolio management. All in an effort to do two things:
1) lower the cost of tuition in the market and hopefully increase the learning curve for all traders
2) compound our gains and increase the value of our war chest
