Dick’s Sporting Goods paid $15 million for the email addresses of 25 million customers. The sale of the information is legal because Sports Authority declared bankruptcy and sold off its spare parts this summer. If your information was sold you should receive an email from Sports Authority giving you the option to opt out of the sale. Customers can go to SAPrivacyTransferNotice.com before Sept. 17 and enter the notification ID sent by email. Sports Authority operated 460 stores.
