My guess is that every one of those 244 thousand will sign up as soon as the first episode is released, which is projected for October. Here's why. These followers of Lovecraft are akin to Star Wars fans. If a brand new, year long series of Star Wars episodes (one per week) came out on their fan website and the cost was only $20 for the entire series for the year, how many would sign up? Probably most. Their Starbucks bill is probably less than $20 per week!
Not only that, but this is the first complete animated Mountains of Madness story to be produced. There are short clips from other attempts but to my knowledge, other than printed and illustrated written works, this is the first attempt at the entire story as a video. So to those 244,516 followers on the H.P.Lovecraft-Ezine website, this will be a first.
