Chriss111, just so you know where I'm coming from I'll tell you that my interests lie in alternative energy, EV and tech stocks. In particular right now I am interested in lithium stocks due to the growth of the EV market and the need for batteries to power them. Right now it seems that lithium based batteries are the battery of choice and a lot of emphasis is being put into finding and recovering the ingredients for these batteries. So the plays here are lithium, cobalt and graphite.
BTW, I trade on Canadian exchanges as much as possible to avoid CDN/US exchange fees. You may find the tickers I mention on US exchanges if you are in the US and want to avoid the same thing. A lot of the Venture exchange stocks trade with better volume in Canada though.
I have made a few bucks on Electrovaya EFL.TO a lithium battery maker, Lithium Americas LAC.TO lithium mining, Pure Energy PE.V lithium mining, I did well with Advanced Micro Devices AMD, graphics and CPU chips, bouncing off the bottom with a good Q2 and good PR's about new products. I held through the Q2 report, which is a swing trading no-no but got lucky and got out with some profit and I made some pizza money on ASTI which you know all about...lol.
I look for companies that have a good chart. I try not to by into stocks that are in a downtrend even though ASTI was in a major downtrend when I bought it, it was also in a little rally at the time I was in. You have to be nimble to catch rallies in major downtrends. I could have made a good chunk of change but I was too greedy and too slow on the trigger...missed the timing on that one. It was my first micro penny play and I was just learning how they move.
I recently bought Sienna Resources SIE.V ,another lithium play, because I signed up for news on their website and I have had 2 calls from the President of the company and it's going to pop when he releases some PR's in a little while. He's a big holder of PE stock so watch that one too.
My most interesting play right now is going sideways and is a little boring at the moment but has excellent technology for recycling used lithium batteries is American Manganese AMY.V. They say they have patented technology that can recover 100% of the lithium and cobalt ingredients in used lithium batteries. This company has really good potential and will pop on news. Read their White Paper on their technology on their website.
I'm doing quite well with my biggest stake in Lithium X LIX.V. I got in on a pullback on Aug 10 at 1.97 and it's high today so far was 2.48...do the math, not bad and it's moving well on low volume.
I have another play like ASTI in Seafarer Exploration Corp. SFRX and is total speculation. It is another sub penny stock in deep debt that will move if they uncover something interesting in regards to sunken treasures off the coast of Florida. In at 0.002 and looking to get out at 0.004 or so or higher. I have a friend who got me interested in this one...sound familiar???...LOL
Another stock is Eguana Technologies EGT.V and I'm in this one because I like their technology and the chart's not too bad. They recently had a good Q so things look good for the company fundamentally...it's a bit of a yawner right now though.
