SAFM Sanderson Farms Inches Higher Pre-Bell as Q2 Profit Tops Street Mark, Revenues Miss

08:42 AM EDT, 08/25/2016 (MT Newswires) -- Sanderson Farms (SAFM), a poultry processing company, reported Thursday Q2 net profit of $2.42 per share, up from $2.27 per share in the prior year period and higher than the $2.23 per share Street estimate provided by Capital IQ.
Net sales were $728 million, down from $739.9 million reported for the same period last year and lower than the $740.9 million Street estimate.
Shares were marginally higher pre-bell.
