This is what the PR actually says:

In March, 2016, iMedScan entered into an agreement with Acuant Corporation of Los Angeles, California to employ its proprietary, hosted scanning solution on patient’s driver’s licenses and insurance cards.

What is meant by "its"? Since the most recent entity named is Acuant, I'd say it's Acuant's technology that will be used. And what does Acuant do? It has a scanning technology:
