Comparing specialties of scientific advisors:

Yat Li
Dr. Li has significant experience in exploring and developing hydrogen fuel producing technologies. As Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz (“UCSC”), Dr. Li plays a prominent role in the physical and biological sciences division within the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. Previously, Dr. Li and other researches from UCSC developed a concept that created hydrogen fuel by exposing treated wastewater to sunlight. In collaboration with colleagues, Dr. Li has published numerous papers on the subject, including “Solar-driven microbial photoelectrochemical cells with a nanowire photocathode,” and “Self-Biased Solar-Microbial Device for Sustainable Hydrogen Generation.”

Is Li still around?

John Stickney
Professor John Stickney currently serves at the University of Georgia within the Department of Chemistry, focusing on Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry and Nanoscience practices. His current research group is focused in the studies and growth of thin film materials, many of which are compound semiconductors, including compounds used for photovoltaics.

Professor Stickney will provide experience and guidance in further developing the synthesis of the high quality semiconductor materials that serve as critical components in the hydrogen production device for absorbing sun light and efficiently converting light energy into charge carriers for the production of hydrogen. This will entail developing chemistries for electrodeposition of Chalcogenide semiconductors on different surfaces, such as metals, metal oxides, and other semiconductors. He will also share strategies for using his UGA developed electrochemical-atomic layer deposition (EC-ALD) technique, a methodology used academically and industrially worldwide for fabricating high quality single crystalline thin film deposits.
