No, shorting this stock is not committing suicide, provided that you cover at least the end of everyday. Remember, the shorts are much more sophisticated than longs will be ever be, but that short whomever it may be, either has an agenda, which almost always they do. Now, if he doesn't cover at the end of the day, Roche could come out the next day with something along the lines of either brokering a deal between a huge company or he might buy the company and that would be committing suicide. Been doing this for very, very long time, 30+ plus in this business.
