DEA usually will not investigate Marijuana unless it involves a minimum of 100 pounds or a entity is acting as a criminal enterprise under the RICO statute. Complaints under their standard are referred to local law enforcement IMHO. FYI it does not matter whether its a one or two , DEA has always granted research to those that apply for same .

Comparing todays DEA with the cowboys back in the 80"s is unfair IMHO.

All money cases now require dual controls and are monitored by cameras , etc. There will be exceptions to the rule as DEA Agents are human beings.
One night our Drug dog alerted on two duffle bags on a greyhound bus that no one claimed. 8 hours of using a money machine revealed over a million dollars in cash........ what would you have done? we turned it in....
