Anyhow, the big question is the validation of the science. Geron has a major foothold in the practical aspects as well as theory and if any researcher, even in China, shows what can be done specifically with ESCs, this is of major importance to Geron.

An Important Example: Some researcher shows that ESCs are indeed immune privileged in humans. Absolutely huge, major and this would mean that the islet stuff would probably go ahead full steam.

Summary: CIRM and other ESC stuff anyplace, by anyone has the potential to be huge for Geron; a success with ESCs no matter where will be the very thing Geron needs.
