Actually it wasn't a gift by big oil but people putting blinders on and lowering our environmental standards regarding fracking. That drove oil supply up and prices down. That coupled with the Saudis increasing production. So if you want to thank the Saudis be my guest but when you figure out their reason you won't be so happy.
