with no ceramic plates, you may as well have just worn the short sleeve shirt by itself...

the body armor won't protect you against rifle rounds without ceramic plates...so like I said, you may as well have walked around in a t shirt...regardless of the material, the vests are going to be made thick and dense...spider silk will not be substantially cooler...

the difference is going to have to be substantial enough for the military to make the change...a little bit of difference won't do it...
