Short Takes: Freddie Mac, An Earner for Uncle Sam
GSE Investors Wonder: When Do We Get Ours ?

In case you?re keeping track, when Freddie Mac makes its next dividend payment
to Uncle Sam in September, it will have forked over $99.1 billion in cash to
the U.S. government versus draws of $71.3 billion, a difference of $27.8 billion.

We should point out that the $99.1 billion excludes guaranty fee income remitted
to Treasury because of the 2011 payroll tax cut.

It also excludes federal income taxes paid.

Freddie and Fannie Mae have been in conservatorship since September 2008?

Meanwhile, investors in Freddie (and Fannie Mae) common and preferred who
bought their shares as a speculative investment are still wondering:

Hey, when do we get some of that money ?

For now, the answer is: never. Keep filing those lawsuits though?
