This is exactly why discussions that focus on the fluctuations of the p/s have little to do with the long term viability of a business. Transparency does not extend to the strategies undertaken by firms because they are the very life blood of what makes for business success. No business can be successful by announcing decisions that have financial implications. Any strategic thinking company (and there are many, despite what we read here) looks to the business environment and monitors what the competition is doing because it is only in watching what others do can an assessment be made of their strategies. All strategies are about growth, whether through R&D development, M&A, geographic and/or product expansion. What you are noting with respect to the drugs from Mikah and what that may portend regarding the future for Elite can only be speculated upon. However, from my learned business perspective, I like what I see. Any arguments to the contrary lack fundamental business grounding.
