ahh no.

You cant cover a short options derivative like a stock. otherwise known as "writing"

The only way to profit from a (sell to open on a put or call) is on expiration when the contract you write expires worthless you pocket the premium collected on the transaction. Once you sell to open you own that obligation till expiration no way out.
