To use the short sales volume numbers for anything at all is a misuse of them.

What would extremes indicate? Tuesday's ratio of short:total volume was historically very low. What did that tell us?

I guess we disagree. I don't think it tells us a damn thing. Daily short volume is a function of market mechanics, not market sentiment.
But I'm no expert.
