Adjuvant Therapy for Breast Cancer

Adjuvant therapy for breast cancer is designed to treat micrometastatic disease, or breast cancer cells that have escaped the breast and regional lymph nodes but have not yet had an established, identifiable metastasis.

Researchers have known for YEARS that adjuvant therapies can help contain spread - known as micrometastases - with the goal to minimize the metastatic spread.

But metastases they indeed are. In fact, there is an extensive literature on containing metastases with adjuvant therapies.
