CNC Centene Edges Up 2% Pre-Bell on Q2 Results Beat

06:38 AM EDT, 07/26/2016 (MT Newswires) -- Centene (CNC) shares were 2% higher in Tuesday's pre-market session after the diversified healthcare company reported Q2 adjusted net profit of $1.29 per share, up from $0.76 per share in the prior year period and higher than the $1.09 per share Street estimate provided by Capital IQ.
Revenues were $10.90 billion, up from $5.51 billion reported for the same period last year and higher than the $10.81 billion Street estimate.
For 2016, the company expects adjusted earnings to range from $4.20 per share to $4.55 per share on revenues of between $39.4 billion and $40 billion. The Street estimates call for earnings of $4.21 per share on $39.72 billion of revenues.
