I choose to believe that HE believes that gold does exist.

Of course he believes it - because it's a fact that near surface gold exists in the area. Nothing mysterious about it. He (as JABA) drilled the near surface gold prospect that exists just to the north of the Hay Mountain claims, as did half a dozen other exploration companies in the last 40 years. Nobody could put together a resource worthy of more exploration, so everybody dropped it.

Now, JB would have investors believe that his claims and lease areas are the actual bullseye of mineralization, and ignores the mineralization that is well documented to the north.

Lots of assay data, geochem data, geological maps, drill logs, technical reports are readily available - despite what JB would have you believe. He is not the only geologist to have wandered those hills.
