That video, although hilarious, is quite a few years old. Take a look at some of the robots showcased from 2016:

I'd say these companies have already taken great strides (pun intended) in improving robot's gaits, but I still think you are right, in that depending on the actual data EKSO is collecting, it could be of great value to another company focusing on autonomous robots.
