You can cover while sitting on the bid. You can sell short while sitting on the ask. MMs will make round trips and make bank on stocks like this. If there happens to be good news than it is a rush to cover and they will attack the ask to cover. Kbio the biggest short squeeze. Millions of dollars lost trying to cover.
