Thanks Nobahamas, beautifully simple...

That GLIDES system is a beautifully simple way to store large amounts of power... power storage is really the key to energy independence... That system would seem to be massively scalable pretty easily... so much for batteries...

I would love to see GE et al begin using TiAl blades in their power turbines but I think the weight advantage over other materials is not as critical in a large land based turbine...

Anyways, very interesting..
