I assume he's referring to WoW's fast-travel system, which involves riding a gryffon or giant bird across the country from one town to another. It's a gorgeous aspect to the game, as you fly on rails in real-time over the actual landscape of the game, but it can take a while if you're going to a distant town. Personally, when I played I usually used this time to go grab a bite to eat, but I guess I'm not the power-user Tenchu is. ;)

I sure miss WoW sometimes. Had to cut myself off a year ago because it was just getting too addictive and affecting other aspects of my life (I steer clear of MMORPGS altogether now). Great game, though...
