The GE connection is not simply grasping at straws, in fact it is developing consistently over time.

GE + Sigma JTDA, Pioneer partner for Printrite3D Inspect
GE lead an America Makes project to address the need of a commercially available, platform independent QA technology for high volume AM to be achieved through the maturation of an IPQA™ technology and bring Sigma Labs in as the IPQA™provider
Additive Industries ask GE Aviation (and BMW amongst others) what they need and accommodate it into MetalFab1. PrintRite3D and 3D Sim get incorporated into MetalFab1 Additive World Platform. Co-incedentally BMW also signs NDA with Sigma Labs
Materialise being used by GE as backbone of their AM system , up appears an agreement between Materialise and Sigma Labs
Safran (GE’s partner in CFM) supply chain starts getting into 3D printing, up pops an agreement between Spartacus3D and Sigma Labs. (Spartacus3D is a supply chain partner with Safran)
