IMHO, this is a potentially very important development for INSM. It is a clearly an attempt to circumvent the TRCA patent infringement lawsuit. The lawsuit clearly states that INSM violated the DNA patent which describes IGF production via prokayotic host (bacterial cell). Phyton will produce IGF via plant cell host (eukaryotic cell). This will completely nullify TRCA lawsuit- in the event that TRCA wins the lawsuit. If successful, this is a brilliant move and will eliminate the patent infringement concerns. Overall, this is a very positive development.
