Microsoft Vista Compared to Exobox Technologies!

Looks interesting. However, after using Microsoft Vista for over a month now I am afraid that Microsoft has beat them to the punch. Much of the "unique" security functions that Exobox refers to are included in Vista. Vista treats everything as malicious and requires user varification to execute anything that could potentially be malicious.

I have requested a copy of the white paper and will read over it. I am just afraid that it's too late for exobox. The only real potential I see is capturing the "we can't afford to upgrade to Vista" market, and if this is the case what will their pricing model be?

Just my 2 cents.

HI Qwerty,

Thanks for the post about Microsoft Vista and your opinion on its comparison to Exobox Technologies. Below are some facts comparing Microsoft Vista Security Features and Exobox's Technology.

In all due respect, Microsoft Vista is the next generation of Microsoft's operating system but it is very far behind in the SECURITY end of the field compared to Exobox. It still uses a reactive approach and Microsoft states that "you should help keep your computer healthy by using antivirus software such as Windows OneCare or an antivirus solution from one of Microsoft's partners. Whichever option you choose, remember to update your antivirus software regularly. These updates are generally available through a subscription from your antivirus vendor.
"

Vista is not a a proactive software and it still needs to be updated via patches, hence is NO comparision to Exobox.

Here are some notes from the Microsoft Vista Site. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/features/foreveryone/security.mspx#more

Automatic Updates and Windows Security Center can help you keep your PC up to date with the latest security patches, and also alert you when your PC needs to install an update.

Windows Vista firewall helps protect you from hackers, viruses, and worms that try to reach your computer over the Internet.

Windows Defender helps protect you against spyware and other potentially unwanted software. And the Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT), delivered through Automatic Updates, periodically scans your PC looking for known prevalent viruses.

In addition to using these built-in Windows Vista features, you should help keep your computer healthy by using antivirus software such as Windows OneCare or an antivirus solution from one of Microsoft's partners. Whichever option you choose, remember to update your antivirus software regularly. These updates are generally available through a subscription from your antivirus vendor.
Together, these tools can help you protect your PC from malicious software.

Now let us look at what Exobox's Proven Technology says-

Exobox technology is like bulletproof glass in that it is virtually 100% effective in protecting against the daily cyber threats targeting Internet users, such as viruses and worms which can destroy documents and computer programs, and spyware which is used to gather personal information without the user's knowledge, increasing the risk for identity theft.

Just install the system and it does the rest, effectively building a protective barrier around computers and servers that has proven to be impenetrable by some of the world’s best hackers. The best part is that users never even know the software’s there while it safely and efficiently protects the network.

Exobox's Technology has been evaluated and received the validation of several sources, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology and OSR Open Systems Resources, Inc., the world leader in low-level manipulation of the Windows operating system.

The proprietary software developed by Exobox Technologies is a “true” solution to threats posed by viruses, Trojans, worms and spyware that are prevalent on the Internet today. Best of all, Exobox’s software solutions are proactive and 100-percent effective.

Exobox's unique approach to network security provides an unrivaled level of security, coupled with the addition of significant, revolutionary features that other network security products fail to provide.

Even IBM’s newest “state of the art” technology uses a heuristic algorithm to “look” for problems. Such reactive technologies are inherently fallible. They inevitably miss problems or report “false positives”.

Exobox’s Technology does not suffer from either of these problems. The White Paper conveys our proactive approach in the technical disclosure section, pages 7 through 17, by identifying how the Technology works

These multiple features and benefits described in the White Paper should make SUEZ Technology the foremost network/data protection solution on the market.

The Enterprise Solution currently being developed for anticipated licensing in 2006 represents the first in a line of SUEZ based products from Exobox.

With that said, I cannot see any comparison what so ever. From what I can see, Exobox will be the leader in the Network Security Industry.

P.S. ****Exobox Management “expects” that EXOBOX’s Technology will soon be generally acknowledged as the “Disruptive Technology of Choice” for the Network Security Industry.

Wow, that says it all!

Hope this helps!
