The company desperately needed money. They couldn't do anything without it, and everything they did do was practically a miracle and on borrowed time. It was all a desperate move. One day to the next they were operating on a nearly zero budget.

Gonzalo was right in (at least) this one thing, and that's the approach that BH should have taken. BH should have raised ten or twenty million from the start and then given it his best shot. But instead BH tried to do everything on a shoestring budget so-as to not have to dilute the float. This has been shown to have been the wrong approach.
